Commentary Appropriate For Today’s Changing World

Passing

Jay’s son…, John, called yesterday morning to tell me that Jay had gone to be with our Lord at about 7:00 AM. The call was not unexpected; yet, it still came as a shock. It’s so difficult to get my head around the idea that someone that I have called friend and brother since we were six months old, is gone. There will be no more hours long discussions about politics, military strategies, and Texas history….no more passionate arguments about which handgun is best for home protection….no more debates about pre versus post tribulation.

The pain and grief of loss is tempered by the knowledge that Jay named Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior; and that he is now, no longer prisoner to the pain that once held his earthly body captive. Those that knew and loved Jay have been greatly encouraged by his stalwart witness and the knowledge that he finished life’s journey well.

Rest in peace, brother……
