Commentary Appropriate For Today’s Changing World

Sacrice of Praise

Habakkuk 3:17-18

17 Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD ,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.

We all go thru times such as the prophet Habakkuk has described. Death, job loss, illness, financial reversal. These are all things that we must endure as we follow Him thru life’s journey. However, I must ask myself if my walk with Him is close enough that I can echo Habakkuk’s sentiments. Do I allow selfishness and self pity during difficult times to interfere with my worship of Him? Am I able to praise Him in the difficult times as well as the good times?

Lord, you are so faithful to me. Help me Lord, to remain as faithful to You, as You are to me. Father, grant that my praise would be acceptable to you.
