The Gift

Ummm…pardon me; but I can’t resist the temptation. There have been thousands of words written regarding the reasons for the defeat of John Kerry and his compatriots. I, and I alone, have come up with the answer. It can be summed up in two words. Maureen Dowd. She alone, stands as the prime example of what is wrong with the Democrat party.
The president got re-elected by dividing the country along fault lines of fear, intolerance, ignorance and religious rule. He doesn’t want to heal rifts; he wants to bring any riffraff who disagree to heel.
It’s amazing how she so easily falls into the role of accusing Bush of the very thing that Dems, themselves, are guilty of. The Dems have made a career of spreading the virus of fear among its’ would be constituents. They blathered endlessly about senior citizens losing Social Security; they expended gallons of ink and untold thousands of words trying to convince young people that, if elected, Bush would re-introduce the draft; and, spent weeks trying to convince minorities that the Republicans were trying to disenfranchise them. Dowd speaks of intolerance. How many comments, by the left, have you read and heard regarding the Evangelical Christian community. Remember what they said? Need I remind you?
Mr. Bush, whose administration drummed up fake evidence to trick us into war with Iraq, sticking our troops in an immoral position with no exit strategy, won on “moral issues.”
Ummm…Poppycock!
“He’ll be a lot more aggressive in Iraq now,” one Bush insider predicts. “He’ll raze Falluja if he has to. He feels that the election results endorsed his version of the war.”
I say, “Go for it”! Great idea.
Seeing the exit polls, the Democrats immediately started talking about values and religion. Their sudden passion for wooing Southern white Christian soldiers may put a crimp in Hillary’s 2008 campaign (nothing but a wooden stake would stop it). Meanwhile, the blue puddle is comforting itself with the expectation that this loony bunch will fatally overreach, just as Newt Gingrich did in the 90’s.
Maureen Dowd…the gift that keeps on giving. As long as Dowd and her ilk are around to spread their venom, reasoned people will continue to vote for those that support conservative issues.
