Meet James Jewell

As part of the Joe Carter inspired “Meet Your Neighbor” series, I’d like to introduce you to James Jewell at Rooftop Blog. James has a great post on Inauguration and the Nature of Man.
Every four years, inauguration is a solemn and celebratory passage for the republic. It marks the peaceful transition of administration, and although not a transfer of power this year (gratefully), it is a symbol of the strength and continuity of our representative democracy.

Thanks so much for introducing me, and for your kind words! I attended the inaugural and enjoyed it immensely. It was particularly satisfying that President Bush kept the ceremony in the mainstream of American history–honoring God and seeking His blessing. I’ll have to admit that I relished the thought of the California atheist who went to court to stop the prayers writhing in front of his television.
