More Than Just A Passing Thought

OUTRAGE…..That is the only word that I can think of to express what is going on inside my mind, as it relates to the Terri Schiavo affair. I cannot imagine the anguish that Terri’s parents must have experienced as they first, waited for the congress to get of it’s collective a**and vote to send the case to the federal court and that they now experience as they await a decision by a federal judge that would require the reinsertion of a feeding tube.

Mr. and Mrs. Schindler, as a father, my heart breaks for you. How horrible it must be to be forced to sit idly by and watch as your daughter endures a long slow painful death in front of you. Your love for your daughter, your compassion, and your devotion to her cause should serve as an example to all of us. How on earth have you been able to restrain yourselves from physically attacking her tormentor? My admiration for you increases with each pasiing moment. Please know that you both will remain in my prayers.

Judge Greer, I am no legal scholar. In fact, I didn’t even sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night. However, I do believe that you have been grossly negligent in your handling of the Schiavo case. When presented with the facts, I cannot even remotely fathom how you have come up with the rulings that you have passed down.

Your Honor (the federal judge), I can only pray that you will have the wisdom and courage to examine the facts of this case and come down on the side of life. Please Your Honor, enter into this case with an open mind and a soft heart. After all, we are talking about a human life…not just something that we would destroy because it is no longer of any practical use.

Michael Schiavo, how can I possibly address you in a civil manner? It is very apparent to me that you have lied, distorted the facts, and done everything within your power to destroy the life of the woman that you promised to love and cherish until you both were parted by death. In a dispicable move, you had an affair with another woman and fathered children by her. Have you no shame? Did your wedding vows mean nothing to you? Fortunatley, for you, your fate is not in my hands.

And to the American public….please learn from this. Please learn that a human life, whether in the womb or confined to a hospital bed, is worth infinitely more than anything else on earth.
