The Ultimate Sacrifice

I’ve always been amazed at how this great nation we live in, continues to produce, generation after generation, men like the one described in this article and in this piece. It matters not, whether it’s Belleau Wood in WW I or whether it’s Tarawa, Iwo Jima, and Bataan in WW II or the frozen Chosin Reservoir and Pork Chop Hill in Korea or Khe Son and the Ia Drang Valley during the Viet Nam conflict or our present battles in Afghanistan and Iraq, young men and women that call America home, continue to step forward to defend that which we hold dear.
Having almost lost a son on three different occassions, I would not, for a moment, attempt to negate Cindy Sheehan’s right to express her grief. It’s a terrible shame though, that through her words and deeds, she not only has dishonered the past sacrifices our gallant warriors, but the present sacrifice of her very own son.
