Marc Holtzman

Even though there is almost a year left before election day, I felt that it was time to come out with my support for Marc Hotzman as governor of Colorado. In reviewing Marc’s bio and where he stands on the issues of the day, it is apparent to me that he is the man to shepard the state through the next several years.

He is a rock-ribbed conservative; and, as such, has taken a strong stance on the important issues of the day:

Illegal Immigration

We must strengthen our border enforcement, both for economic and for homeland security reasons. I am opposed to amnesty for people who have broken our immigration laws and cut into line in front of hard-working legal immigrants who have obeyed the law.

By failing to enforce the laws of the land, our government today compels many law-abiding businesses to make the tough choice between breaking the law themselves or going out of business altogether. No Colorado businessperson should ever have to make that choice by virtue of government’s unwillingness to enforce its own laws.

Property Rights & Eminent Domain

Government exists to protect private property rights, not to threaten them. On my watch as your Governor, the sanctity of private property will always be more important than the interests of commercial developers. The U.S. Supreme Court recently voted 5-4 to let a connected Connecticut developer hijack a city’s eminent domain power and condemn individual homes to pave the way for his own commercial gain. The decision was an utter disgrace, and we must ensure that Coloradans are protected against such an outrageous ruling. Whether the issue is defending people’s homes against a commercial developer or protecting their private property from a private toll highway, I will always stand on the side of Colorado’s private citizens and defend their right to own and enjoy their private property as they see fit.

Families & Marriage

I believe that marriage is the union of one man and one woman. I support amending the Colorado and United States Constitutions as necessary to preserve the tradition of marriage.

Life

I am a firm believer in the sanctity of human life. Like President Bush, I am strongly opposed to abortion and I support parental notice and consent. The protection of the unborn will always be a priority when I am Governor.
