Good Friday

Well dear readers, here it is Good Friday. Those of us that claim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, have spent the day soberly contemplating our Lord’s suffering and death upon that terrible Roman cross. The truly amazing thing is that Jesus Christ willingly went to the cross and willingly suffered the punishment that I so justly deserve. As the old time hymn so aptly puts it, “Amazing love, how can it be, that thou my Lord, would die for me”?

By this time in the day, two thousand some odd years ago, Christ’s followers must have felt terribly beaten and horribly discouraged. They had witnessed the terrible Roman trial and the brutal death of their Lord upon the cross. They were surely demoralized and had no idea what the future might hold. The kingdom that they thought was to be established on earth, was nowhere to be found. Some of His closest followers had even deserted Him.

Yet, unbeknownst to them, a mere three days later, the risen Christ would reveal Himself in all His glory. Please join me in eager anticipation as we look forward to the day that we celebrate our Lord and Savior’s resurrection.

Even so now, Lord, quickly come.
