Catch Up

Ah, er, um….well yes…it’s May and I guess it’s time for my “monthly” post. All kidding aside, it’s been near four weeks since my last attempt at literary greatness and guilt has gotten the best of me. Thus, I find it necessary to make some some amends for my lack of posting.

The world still seems to want to spin out of control. We’re no closer to a solution to the Iranian nuclear problem that we were were a month ago. Politicians and diplomats alike, continue to dither and trade insults while the crazed mullahs continue their quest for fissionable material…….their end game being the nuclear destruction of Israel, the United States and any other nation that doesn’t subscribe to their perverted brand of religion.

Here in the good ‘ol US of A, spineless politicians and immigration activists continue their mindless dance over illegal immigration……each trying to out-do the other with meaningless proposals. Yet still, our borders remain unprotected and open to any and all that would seek to enter illegally…. some seeking a better lifestyle, while at the same time draining the already over-stretched resources of our health, education, and welfare systems…..others seeking illegal entry in order to bring death and destruction to our nation.

Yet…our Lord remains firmly in control. To wit, this conversation I had with my five year-old grandson last night:

Will: “Papaw, did you know that animals die”.

Me: “Yes”

Will: “And people die too”.

Me (seeing a teachable moment): “I know, Will, but if they loved Jesus, they’re in heaven with Him, right now.”

Will: “I know. That’s why I love Jesus. I want to go to heaven and live with Him”.

Need I say more….The Lord is surely in control.
