Window Dressing

Not to put too fine a point on it; but, meh!

The phrase, “all dressed up with nowhere to go,” comes to mind. The two items that concerned me the most, a strong (ten to fifteen thousand) presence of the Guard on the border and long array of tall, substantial walls were barely given lip service. Very clearly, the President’s main purpose was to throw the Republican base a bone. He completely missed the mark. Unless, and I might add, not likely to happen, the Congress can come up with something more substantial, all this amounts to is a cacophony of clanging gongs and sounding symbols that only signify the President’s unwillingness to get serious about border issues.

Conclusion….methinks that the bride was left standing at the altar.
