Chavez Visit

Well, it looks as if Hugo wasn’t content to just blast President Bush at the UN. He felt it necessary to accept an invitation at Cooper Union, where he received a standing ovation for his remarks.
Chavez proclaimed himself “a friend” of the people of the United States, but said he hopes next time, they’ll choose, in his words, an “intelligent president.”
Although his remarks at the UN were way over the top, uncalled for, and an insult to our President and the nation–they were not surprising. To paraphrase that great American thinker, Forest Gump, “evil is as evil does”…or (scratching of head), if he didn’t say that, it sounds like something he would have said. However, the actions of the professors and “intellectuals” at Cooper Union were completely uncalled for…just another example of how the denizens of our institutions of higher education think.
