A Look At The Goin’s On

Aaaarrrgghh! We are in the final stages of getting dug out from the last storm, chronicled here and here, and guess what? We’re told that another storm of equal intensity is on its way. For you low-landers, that would mean 12-24 inches of snow and 35-45 mile an hour winds. So…in the spirit of preparedness, I went to the grocery store and bought plenty of staples that might come into short supply over the next several days. Huumph! Had to go to three stores to get all that we needed. Just about all the stores are still out of the basics from the last storm. Oh well, all is done. Let ‘er rip!

On another note, it looks as if Saddam’s date with destiny is drawing near. At the risk of sounding ghoulish, the execution can’t come soon enough. Free men everywhere need to rid themselves of this horrible blight. In spite of all their problems, it looks as if the Iraqis have the appeal process figured out…short and to the point. No messin’ around with endless delays.

On a truly sad note, Gerald Ford has passed away. At a time when the nation really needed it, President Ford stepped forward and did his best to unite a people that were beaten and demoralized by a war in Southeast Asia and torn apart by political scandals at home. May he rest in peace.

Yeeha! Bring it on! This ought to be a lot of fun. Can’t really understand how he can believe that he stands a snowball’s chance in hell. Guess he must miss all the face time that you get as a candidate.

On the eve of the formal launch of his candidacy, Edwards visited the site of his planned announcement Wednesday for a photo opportunity. He did yard work at the home of Orelia Tyler, 54, whose house was completely gutted by Hurricane Katrina and is close to being rebuilt

I’m really surprised that he knows which end is the business end of a mower or lawn rake.

If you get bored and want to waste some time, drop me a line and I’ll introduce you to a snow shovel. It looks like there’ll be plenty of opportunity to use it in the days to come.
