Esplainin’

It looks as if Hillary has garnered the support of two high-powered black politicians in South Carolina.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Two key black political leaders in South Carolina who backed John Edwards in 2004 said Tuesday they are supporting Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.
State Sens. Robert Ford and Darrell Jackson told The Associated Press they believe Clinton is the only Democrat who can win the presidency. Both said they had been courted by Illinois Sen. Barack Obama; Ford said Obama winning the primary would drag down the rest of the party.

What this article fails to mention, is the small fact that Hillary’s campaign awarded these same two gentlemen a $10,000 a month contract as S. Carolina advisers to her campaign.

Soon after the endorsement, Jackson acknowledged that his media consulting firm had negotiated a $10,000 per month contract with Clinton’s campaign. Jackson has said he turned down more lucrative contracts from other candidates.

Hmm…as Ricky Ricardo used to say to Lucy, “you got some esplainin’ to do”. But, fear not. Hillary and her crowd have had ample opportunity over the years to learn the fine art of esplainin’.
