Commentary Appropriate For Today’s Changing World

Playing Catch-Up

Cough…gasp…sputter…wheeze…groan. Those, dear readers, are the sounds of a blog that has been terribly neglected and that is now trying to once again respond to the not-so-nimble fingers of your humble correspondent (henceforth known as YHC). The doors have been locked and the shutters nailed shut for the last several days. Not, you understand, because of a dearth of current events, lack of gut-twistining inanities, or meaningless drivel imanating from the port side of the blogosphere; but, just plain ol’ laziness.

Senator Reid, Speaker Pelosi, and Congressman Murtha have once again reminded us, that contrary to the evidence at hand and despite the best efforts of 132,000 sailors, soldiers, marines, and airmen we are loosing the “war” in Iraq. Talk about a tin ear.

As if the ca-ca iminating from our fearless leaders in the legislative branch wasn’t enough, we are reminded by the Office of Homeland Security that al-Quada is planning an attack on the scale of Nagasaki and Hiroshima on Great Britain.

Spy chiefs warn that one operative had said he was planning an attack on “a par with Hiroshima and Nagasaki” in an attempt to “shake the Roman throne”, a reference to the West.

Another plot could be timed to coincide with Tony Blair stepping down as prime minister, an event described by Al-Qaeda planners as a “change in the head of the company”.

The linked article goes on to explain that the anticipated attacks might not be directed just at Britain; but, might possibly target other interests in the “west”.

Finally, it looks as if ABC has jumped from the frying pan right straight into the fire. One of the leading contenders to replace Rosie O’Donnell is none other than Roseanne Barr. Yep, uh-huh, your eyes don’t deceive you…Roseanne.

So, there you have it. From the sublime…to the ridiculous. Reid to Barr.

Don’t blame me folks. I just work here.
