What To Do With ‘Em

I’ve intentionally held off posting on the illegal alien issue, mainly because this subject has already been addressed by others far wiser than this writer and I didn’t want to needlessly embarrass myself. Second, I wanted to be sure that I had all my ducks lined up before jumping in head first. There is really no easy answer regarding what to do with those folks already in country. Those individuals opposed to rounding all of ‘em up and sending ‘em back to Mexico and points beyond say that it is an impossible task; and to a degree, they’re correct. I would suggest that there are other alternatives though:

1. Strict border control thru use of the already approved, but as yet, unbuilt wall, increased use of Border Patrol agents, and electronic surveillance.

3. Remove the incentive for entering the country illegally. In other words, strike hard at those companies providing employment for illegals…..severe fines and closures if necessary.

So, there you have it. Three simple suggestions (probably already trotted out by those high minded folks that get paid for putting words on paper). Also, probably much easier to write about than actually employ. But, it’s a start.

UPDATE 6/13: After re-reading my post, I decided that perhaps I made everything sound too simplistic. The above solutions are by no means the complete answer to all of our immigration problems. In fact, they are just barely a start. The important thing is that we do something worthwhile to begin solving our problems. ………not something like the legislation proposed by Senators McCain and Kennedy and supported by Democrats, some off the range Republicans, and the President. But, then again friends, that’s a topic for another time.
